To support our next phase of growth we are opening a new Research & Development operation, Jonas Software Solutions, in Halifax, Nova Scotia.





We are now looking to recruit our first wave of Developers, QA Analysts, Designers, DBAs, Product Owners, and other key individuals with all levels of experience to form an integral part of the Jonas business across North America.



Product Owner/ Business Analyst



We are looking to hire a number of Product Owner/ Business Analyst (BA) roles supporting various businesses within the Jonas group. Experience levels ranging from 1 to 5 years.



The Product Owner is responsible for interpreting requirements from internal and external stakeholders, creating functional specifications, and working with scrum teams to drive the effective development and implementation of new functionality in our applications.



As a PO in Research and Development, you must have a customer focus and strong business acumen, understanding customer needs, and trends in the marketplace.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ability to partner with the stakeholders to thoroughly understand the customer journey map and enhance their business objectives to build a world-class SAAS product.

Work closely with leadership, developers, product owners, BAs, QA and end-users throughout the SDLC AND ensure applications meet acceptance criteria and our customer’s needs.

Work with both internal and external stakeholders, documents business requirements based on the business problem the user is trying to solve

Communicate functional requirements to Product Development through formal functional specifications

Work within agile methodologies and frameworks such as Kanban, Scrum, Scrumban, or SAFe.

Communicate regularly with Account Management and our customers to maintain a deep understanding of how the product is used

Performs functional testing of beta and released products, logging and addressing issues on a timely basis

Acting as a Scrum Master to remove impediments for the team.

Assists in the Product Development department’s escalation and triage process

Works with vendor partners on joint projects which can improve the value proposition of the product solution for customers

Coordinates or conducts training on new modules/features for internal and external customers

Maintains backlog of customer enhancement requests

Plans, schedules and facilitates grooming, estimation and demonstration of stories

Occasional travel to the US on for customer and/or company meetings



QUALIFICATIONS:

1 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.

Ability to analyze and work with 3rd party technical specifications

Experience working in an agile environment or with scrum teams

Previous experience in managing/delivering SaaS development projects preferred

Previous experience working with teams doing Microsoft .NET development preferred

Ability to communicate technical or complex topics to non- technical audiences

Ability to communicate business concepts to technical audiences

Experience with Jira & Atlassian Suite or other comparable development ticketing system preferred

Ability to generate creative ideas, make decisions in a timely manner and prioritize effectively

Candidates must possess strong analytical, excellent written communication, and problem-solving skills

Basic understanding of client-server architecture and relational databases is an asset

Proficiency working in desktop applications (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project)
