The Role

Christchurch, New Zealand based Seequent, creator of geoscience modeling, analysis, and collaboration software is seeking a high-energy, dynamic Product Manager for the geophysics portfolio to complement our team. We're looking for someone with the drive that will keep Seequent as the leader in geophysical modeling and data management. You are a hands-on product person who will help us deliver the product strategy and implementation that continues our growth and drives us into new markets.



Seequent's growth plan is to achieve annual revenues of $USD 120 million across its diverse portfolio by March 2023. The solutions offered by Seequent cross-cut a range of customer segments including those in mining, civil engineering,





environmental engineering, and energy, and create value for end-users across a wide array of applications. This role has a strong focus on enabling growth across all Seequent Solutions and Segments and will be responsible for developing and executing product delivery strategy that sees the user base of the solutions and products grow and diversify. As a Product Manager, you will be working with the Director, Product Management, the CTO, the CRO (Chief Revenue Officer) team, Marketing, Development, and Sales, to evolve the long term portfolio and solutions vision and road maps and ensure smooth solutions delivery.



You are the consummate team player, adept at managing relationships, collaborating and influencing across a variety of organizational functions. You will guide a team that is charged with a product's contribution to our business, building new products and increasing the profitability of existing products. In addition, you will help develop new ideas based on your contact with customers and prospects.



You should be prepared to make decisions with imperfect information, know how to lead without authority and be comfortable managing chaos, ambiguity and complexity. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy that includes a big-picture vision and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must also enjoy spending time in the market to understand market problems and finding innovative solutions for the broader market.



Communications skills are key to success in this role. You will work with Product Owners to define product release requirements based on market problems. You will work with product marketing and marketing communications to help define the go-to-market strategy by providing key product and market insights. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working to support the sales channel and key customers. In short, you must be prepared to communicate with all areas of the company.



To support the rapid growth of our business, we are seeking a high-energy, dynamic Product Manager to join the geophysics portfolio team. We're looking for someone with the drive that will keep Seequent as the leader in geophysical modeling and data management. You will play a key role in delivering the product strategy and implementation that continues our growth and drives us into new markets.



This is a full-time, permanent role and can be based in our Toronto, ON or Calgary, AB office. Temporarily this role will be carried out remotely while our offices are closed in response to COVID-19.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:



- Contribute to growth across all Seequent Solutions and Segments and be responsible for developing and executing product delivery strategy

- Contribute to road maps for our products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future

- Develop business proposals for new product opportunities

- Work collaboratively with other teams to evolve the long-term portfolio and solutions vision, coordinate marketing material and organize product launches

- Support the organization for product launches

- Identify and communicate the risks to the business

- Conduct research to understand market problems and find innovative solutions

- Attend conferences and trade shows



In order to be successful in this role, you should have:



- Minimum 2 years of marketing, development, sales, or product management experience plus a tertiary qualification (Technical or Geoscience)

- Experience in commercial software development, innovative technology or geological modelling a plus

- Demonstrated analytical and synthesis skills, including the ability to absorb and process large amounts of data into actionable information

- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop and build sustainable working relationships

- Strong negotiation, presentation, and leadership skills

- Strong written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail

- A team player mindset with an ‘end result' focus
