POSITION: Human Resources Administrator



EFFECTIVE DATE: July 1, 2021



REPORTS TO: Human Resources Manager



SCOPE OF POSITION



Headquartered in Burnaby BC, ConeTec is a leading global geotechnical site investigation company.



The Human Resources Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of HR policies, programs and services. Reporting to HR Manager he/she will ensure that HR programs are implemented effectively and efficiently.



HR Administrator will contribute to our efforts to make ConeTec a people-first great place to work and will have an impact and improve our:



recruitment initiatives

onboarding and offboarding processes

engagement initiatives







employee recognition

performance management

annual initiatives and meetings

HR documents, policies, and procedures



ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS



HR Strategy



Ensure HR initiatives are consistently in line with company goals, objectives, and schedules.



Recruitment



Manage full-cycle company recruitment activities (i.e. developing job descriptions and job postings, sourcing and screening applicants, conducting phone and in-person interviews, checking references).

Ensure job descriptions are up to date.

Develop and update standard hiring procedures so that they are consistent company-wide.

Provide training, guidance, and support to managers on effective hiring practices.

Maintain relationships with recruitment partners, schools, and others who can assist with hiring process.

Prepare offer letters.

Develop and implement new hire orientation procedure.

Maintain paper and electronic employees records.

Answer employees queries about HR-related issues.



Compensation & Benefits



Conduct salary research to ensure competitiveness of salaries and total compensation.

Ensure benefits plans are suitable for the needs to staff.

Administer benefits program and communicate plan to employees.

Coordinate record-keeping activities with Payroll & Benefits Administrator.



Employee Development



Implement and administer effective and efficient company performance management system for a diverse team.

Aggregate results of performance reviews to analyze trends, development areas, issues, etc.

Source training programs and courses relevant to employee development plans.

Help to coordinate employee training initiatives.

Source professional development opportunities for managers to strengthen competency of management team.



Employee Relations & Communications



Ensure employee handbook is current with most up-to-date company policies and procedures.

Develop employee rewards & recognition programs.

Act as internal contact for employees when they have problems or concerns.

Coordinate employee satisfaction surveys.

Develop and implement exit interview process.

Provide guidance on employee terminations.

Develop employee communications materials (e.g. emails, print, web, newsletters, etc.)

Ensure company goals, vision & values are incorporated into communication materials

Coordinate activities with Marketing Department as required.

Perform other administrative tasks as required.



Community Involvement



Coordinate and administer community involvement and social responsibility initiatives.

Communicate with universities to advance development of students in geotechnical and environment engineering professions.

Maximize ConeTec’s ability to leverage community involvement as a recruitment, branding and business development tool.



SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED



A university degree or college diploma in human resources management or a related field (e.g. business administration, psychology)

Min 3 years of proven work experience as HR Administrator or relevant role.

US work experience is an asset.



Experience with HRIS software such as BambooHR, Workday.

Thorough knowledge of the labor laws of Canada and the United States of America.

Ability to support administrative team in Peru, Chile, Australia and other office where the ConeTec group could eventually have offices.

Strong computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular).

Experience with database, data analytics, SQL, and other programming languages is an asset.

Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.

Must have exceptional communication skills, both verbal & written.

Must have proven ability to handle confidential and sensitive material in an appropriate manner.

Must have proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.

Must be able to work well independently and in a team setting.



Flexibility and the ability to work in an unstructured environment is ideal.
