NVA Canada is looking for a self-driven, innovative and entrepreneurial Manager to lead our Talent & Learning initiatives across Canada and based out of our Canadian Support Centre team based in Oakville, ON, with flexible and remote work options.



Reporting to the Head of People & Talent Services, our Manager of Talent & Learning will oversee and lead NVA Canada’s learning, development, engagement, diversity, inclusion & belonging, performance and succession efforts. As an ambassador of NVA Canada,





you love collaborating with business leaders to create and advance learning strategies, design learning & engagement solutions, facilitate mentoring & succession programs, enable high performance and an inclusive workplace. You are multi-faceted with a great mix of creativity and interpersonal communication skills, which enables you to succeed in a highly collaborative and fast-paced work environment.



What You’ll Do:

Partner with NVA’s US Learning team and Canadian senior-level stakeholders to create learning solutions to meet business needs and drive people and organizational learning strategies

Develop and/or leverage North American curriculum for multiple levels of the organization, including frontline, site leaders, and divisional leaders, ensuring relevancy to Canadian population

Project manage and drive complex talent and learning projects from start to finish that involve multiple, senior-level stakeholders

Facilitate curriculum, focus groups, and other types of interventions as needed and for a variety of audiences, up to senior executive level

Plan and assist leaders in executing talent and learning related communications

Define and measure learning related metrics, track success and monitor transformation progress of talent and learning interventions

Synthesize data, strategy, and business knowledge to identify opportunities for continuous improvement of talent and learning products and approaches

Proactively seeks opportunities to partner with the business and add value through talent and learning solutions

Partner with US team to implement engagement surveys, distill results and work with business leaders and employees to create an engaging work environment

Implement strong performance and succession practices, partnering with the US to leverage best practice and tools

Partner with US to establish and implement strategies to establish a diverse and inclusive work environment where people feel they belong

Work closely with the Director of Marketing and Senior Manager, of Purchasing and Category Leadership to facilitate and leverage key vendor investments in training

Work closely with NVA’s Community Team to facilitate Health of The Heeler programming

Work with NVA Australia to execute the Boomerang placement and training initiative



What makes someone a good fit?



You’ve lead people, have gotten to know them and understand how to create an environment where they thrive

Minimum of 10 years in learning and development, curriculum building, facilitation and learning program management

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred

Experience with large scale learning and mentoring projects

Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize across a number of deliverables and stake holders

Technologically savvy, including proficiency with MS Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

French Speaking would be an asset



A successful candidate for this position is someone with:

Business Acumen: demonstrate ability to learn organizations and systems quickly; solid understanding of business issues and challenges

Project Management: familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle; ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously



Preferred Experience, Skills, and Capabilities:

Certification in programs such as DiSC, MBTI, EQ, Hogan, Strengths Finder, 360 tools

Executive Coaching experience and/or certification

Experience with educational technology and eLearning
