We are looking for a Product Support Analyst – Non-Par Life Insurance (18 month term)



Reporting to the Manager, Non-Par Life Insurance Solutions, you will be responsible for the daily maintenance of Universal Life crediting interest rates for our UL portfolio. You will play an important operational role on the Non-Par team using Excel tools to calculate rates and upload them to the policy administration system each day, reaching out to external fund managers and other internal groups as needed. You will also help with additional product support functions as available and capable.



What you will do



Daily maintenance of UL crediting rates for all generations of UL products issued by Canada Life and legacy entities

Monitor daily/weekly/monthly/yearly rates to ensure data integrity

Reach out to external fund managers with questions when issues come up

Work with actuarial, systems and Client Service partners as part of regular maintenance and problem solving

Handle basic rate inquiries from internal stakeholders

Identify areas of improvement in the UL rate process and be willing to recommend to leaders

Perform other non-UL duties as requested, some ad hoc, some regular, to support the Life Pricing and Product Support function



What you will bring



Experience using complicated Excel tools and an ability to trace complex formulas to understand how calculations are generated (experience using macros and understanding at a high level how they work is an asset)

Experience using IBM mainframe environment is an asset, but not required

Strong proven attention to detail, and ability to identify when a result is not within the range of expectation

Professional curiosity that will increasingly understand the logic behind the process that you own and the product it supports (it is not necessary to understand Universal Life insurance in detail before starting the job, but there is an expectation that relevant knowledge will develop over time)

Commitment to seeing a job well done day in and day out to support thousands upon thousands of policyholders who rely upon your work

Ideally having the means to come into the office unexpectedly to accomplish an upload if sudden remote access outage

Able to work under tight daily timelines to meet upload targets and occasionally being available to work beyond regular workday to fix an upload error (supported by other team members)
