Responsibilities & Qualifications:
Serves as a primary business contact for Marketing Services to coordinate the planning and execution efforts of assigned projects from concept to implementation,
in order to increase sales and brand awareness, and reinforce the company’s culture. (This position can located anywhere in Canada)
Develops strategies in collaboration with stakeholders for products and services, including developing project requirements, internal and external communication, and project plans to successfully execute.
Coordinates all aspects of the project details including budgets, estimates, schedules, (billing, change orders, etc.).
Proactively communicates with customers and peers on all project details using both verbal (face-to-face, phone or video conferencing) and written communication methods.
Coordinates with internal and external creative resources and content development team from inception to completion.
Ensures project strategy and goals are met by proofing projects for consistent, high quality copy and design
Approaches projects with a digital-first mindset, and evaluates each opportunity to move Gordon Food Service to a digital platform while ensuring that Gordon Food Service is easy to do business with
Independently manages day-to-day workloads based on job assignments. Strives to control expenses through efficient processes, proactive workload planning, and ensures proofs and final deliverables are completed by deadlines and within budget.
Enforces the correct usage of Gordon Food Service logo and brand standards on marketing materials and communications.
Monitors, manages, and controls project budgets, analyzes variances and takes appropriate action to ensure budget is at or under plan.
Continually evaluates and improves the effectiveness of project/campaign execution, based on data and insights about customers, markets, and metrics.
Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the food industry as well as the marketing industry.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Ability to develop solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity, referring to policies and practices, considering relative costs and benefits, and can choose the most appropriate one.
Must have analytical and problem-solving skills to develop solutions for a variety of creative projects of moderate scope and complexity.
Must have strong project management skills to oversee and coordinate projects with many details
Knowledge of marketing strategies and tactics for B2B and B2C target audiences for both products and services.
Ability to translate the strategic advantages of various media into creative solutions for desired reach and frequency.
Knowledge of digital marketing, web application processes (websites, banner ads, microsites, etc.), video, and four-color printing processes for digital, sheetfed, and web is preferred.
Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to build and maintain customer relationships.
Must be a team player, and have collaborative work relationships.
Must have mathematical and analytical skills to handle project budgets and review estimates.
Must be able to manage one’s own time, prioritize work tasks, be detail-oriented, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's Degree in Design Communications, Marketing, Advertising, or related field required
Three to five years experience in creative/design processes, project management, marketing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
In lieu of the specified education and experience requirements, a proven capability to perform the essential functions of the job, as demonstrated by an equivalent combination of education, training and/or relevant work experience may be considered.
