Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to be the Clinical lead for the Stollery Children's Hospital Social Worker team. You will work with or within teams to provide health care services for patients with complex and multidimensional medical, psychosocial, environmental and instrumental needs. You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You will act as clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).





As a clinical lead you demonstrate professionalism through high integrity, self-awareness and continued personal development. You are able to develop networks and build and maintain relationships within your own team and the multidisciplinary teams that you will work with. Your ability to plan and execute strategic initiatives with skill and empathy is a must. You will manage the team resources as well as the performance of the team. Your focus will be on improving services, critically evaluating practice, ensuring safety and encouraging improvement and innovation. You will have a proven track record of setting direction, applying knowledge and evidence and evaluating impact of change and decisions. You must have the ability to adapt to change and lead capably to challenge service redesign and improvements. The clinical lead will have the ability to collaborate with patients and providers across the health systems and seek to ensure improved health outcomes and develop the skills of the Social Work team.



Description:

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master's degree in Social Work. (equivalent education or experience may be considered). Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).



Additional Required Qualifications:

BLS required. Previous leadership experience required. Must have worked in a quaternary setting within the last 3 years. Indigenous awareness and training required. Leadership behaviors will absolutely set the tone for the period we are now in and directly impact upon our chances of success in transforming the service. Change management and process improvement experience a must. Well-developed consultation and coaching skills a must. Consistent approach to commitment to professional development, based on professional values and beliefs, which is nested within the professional domain standards required. Effective clinical leadership is pivotal in ensuring that improvement in healthcare with increasingly complex services. Must have ability to create a culture of visible commitment to patient safety and quality this requires clinical and professional leaders to work together to meet healthcare challenges of the future.



Preferred Qualifications:

Second language an asset. Ability to build leadership awareness and capability across the health system, by embedding leadership competences within team and within service partners. Sound knowledge of resource and practice compliance. Ability to enhance practice accountability and empower staff to ensure high quality, safe and effective care.
